Dr. Matt Butnaru

Scientist

Dr. Matt Butnaru is a scientist at the Arthropod Cell Screening Facility. 

He has more than 10 years of experience in molecular and cell biology, including 5 years of experience with the Perrimon lab and Drosophila RNAi Screening Facility, where he led the development of CRISPR screen platforms for Ixodes scapularis cells. 

Matt has successfully developed, optimized, and implemented technologies and workflows that improved the efficiency of our screening platforms. 

In addition to being a highly productive, innovative, and creative member of ACSF research innovation efforts, Matt is also a dedicated mentor, training and overseeing interns and staff in research strategy and applications.
