Dr. Xiaomei Sun joined the ACSF and Perrimon lab in 2024 with experience gained as a PhD student working on molecular genetics and microbiome interactions in the disease vector mosquito *Aedes aegypti*.

At the ACSF, Dr. Sun has been testing new versions of Cas proteins in a variety of arthropod cell species, as part of new development and optimization of the cell screen technologies.

Dr. Sun's deep vector biology background and insightful approaches to cell screen technology and its potential applications are contributing to her rapid success as a member of the ACSF research and innovation team.
